An assessment of power system harmonics generation. / Maamer TALEB
Titre : An assessment of power system harmonics generation. Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Maamer TALEB, Auteur Année de publication : 1990 Importance : 164 p. Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Electronique Mots-clés : Harmonics generation frequency domain simulation dynamic bridge converter current injection Résumé : The increasing presence of harmonics in power systems has caused need for the development of analytical methods of studying harmonic effects. At present, the current injection technique is a simple analytical model of the converter which is widely used. It is recognized, however, that this method may be inaccurate at high distortion levels. Alternate methods have been proposed, but are complicated, and may not be practical for the majority of problems, those methods generalize the conventional power flow algorithm to include the harmonics.
This project reviews the characteristics the harmonic performance of six pulse converters operating under balanced or unbalanced conditions. In particular, the influences of various paramaters on the converter performance are examined. It is shown that the relative harmonic currents are particularty sensitive to the converter firing angle.
A new converter model is proposed which uses the harmonic voltages to predict the converter firing angle and the resulting harmonic currents. This model avoids the complexities of power flow solution methods, yet offers more accuracy than current Injection techniques. The accuracy of the converter model is show with time domain solutions. The effects of the harmonic voltages on the solution are shown.
