radiative transfer, atmospheric correction, ground reectance, Monte Carlo
method.
The atmospheric correction of remote sensing image consists in eliminating the disturbing
eects of the atmosphere. Giving the geometric parameters of the studied image and assessing
the parameters describing the state of the atmosphere it is possible to evaluate the atmospheric
reectance and upward and downward transmittances which take part in the garbling data
obtained from the image.
In this work, a radiative transfer model in the atmosphere, based on Monte Carlo techniques,
was developed and improved to consider the atmospheric correction of several images acquired
from weather and earth observation satellites. The application of this model for the weather
images has allowed determining the dierence between the surface reectance and the reectance
at the top of atmosphere. On the other hand, the analysis of the earth observation images allowed,
in addition, to studying the reectance variation, in time and space, of two areas in the west of
Algeria : the salt lake of Oran, named sebkha, in the north and the chott Ech-Chergui meadows of
the town of Méchria in the south. Moreover, the reectance calculation of the surrounding zones
to the sebkha made it possible to study the degradation state of these areas and to establish the
variation of several indices relating to this study.
To conrm SART results, a comparison was made, between the measured reectances and
calculated surface reectances. In addition, a comparative study with 6S code was performed separately for molecular and aerosol atmospheres for a large geometrical and atmospheric
conditions. | Directeur de thèse : | OUKEBDANE Abdelaziz |
