The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is organizing the World Conference on Agro-food Biotechnologies under the theme:

 
 “Biotechnologies for a Sustainable Future: “The Driver of Transformation in Agro-food Systems”,  
 
 From June 16 to 18, 2025, in Rome, Italy.
 
As part of this conference, the FAO has launched:  
 
– A call for poster abstracts highlighting the latest advances, opportunities, and risks of biotechnologies to transform agro-food systems.  
 
 Deadline for submission: April 30, 2025.  
 
 Selected abstracts will be presented as electronic posters during the conference (no funding for participation).
 
– The Biotechnological Innovation Challenge, aimed at young scientists and innovators under 35, to showcase biotechnological solutions that improve production, nutrition, reduce environmental impact, and enhance the resilience of agro-food systems, particularly for smallholders in developing countries.  
 The top three selected projects will be presented at the conference with financial support for travel and accommodation.  
 Deadline for application: May 2, 2025.
 
 The registration deadline for the conference is May 5, 2025.
